Korean Paintings in the Cincinnati Art Museum

In this lecture, Hou-mei Sung, the curator of East Asian art, talked about the three Korean paintings she acquired for the Cincinnati Art Museum (CAM), which had no Korean painting before her arrival. She introduced how these paintings not only filled a major gap in CAM’s collection, but also provided us with the most intriguing examples of how Korean artists transformed the traditional Chinese themes and styles into new expressions.
