History of the Cincinnati Asian Art Society

Since 1976, interested collectors and enthusiastic admirers of Asian art have joined the Cincinnati Asian Art Society. The goal is to provide for the exchange of ideas among people interested in both the collection and appreciation of Asian art and to further the education of its members. Members also encourage and stimulate the collection of Asian art by society members and the community in general. We have always worked with and supported the Curator of Asian Art at the Cincinnati Art Museum.

Society members are interested in all aspects of Islamic and Oriental art. We explore and enjoy calligraphy, textiles and tapestries, sculpture, religious iconography (and its philosophy), prints, paintings, metal work, silver pieces, jewelry and ceramics. Programs also focus on performing arts from across Asia.

Currently there are over sixty active members and we welcome new members at all times.
