Printed Voices of India: Social and Cultural Reflections

Saad Ghosn, founder and president of SOS ART, spoke briefly of this Cincinnati-based non-profit organization, its mission of peace and justice and its various activities. He discussed how he developed the exhibit "Printed Voices from India" including the preparations for and logistical aspects of the show. He contacted various Indian artists, met them in India and visited five printmaking schools of art where he interacted with their students. Dr. Ghosn shared stories about the contemporary Indian artists he met and the messages behind the artworks in the exhibit which utilize a wide variety of printmaking techniques.
