Beauty, Who Needs It?

When people first think about art, the word "beauty" may come to mind. But often what beauty is and its relative importance are simply taken for granted. In this sneak peek of an upcoming exhibition, Peter Doebler, Kettering Curator of Asian Art at the Dayton Art Institute, explored the idea of beauty from a comparative perspective-how it has been interpreted across time, how it is manifest in different cultures, and its relevance today.
