The Damascus Room: A Fascinating Journey to 18th Century Syria

Dr. Anke Scharrahs takes us on a fascinating journey through 300 years of history of the Damascus Room which is on display in the Cincinnati Art Museum. The historic production technique and materials used will be explained as well as the original context of the elaborately embellished wooden panels and architectural features. Learn about the merchants who commissioned these rooms and see many other examples from Syria and around the world.
